How long should I wait before an adjustment?

Do you often wait until you are in pain before coming in for an adjustment, thinking it will go away on its own, sometimes making it worse? 😢

We commonly see people come in with acute pain from manual labour or physical activities and most of the time it is not due to injury.

Unless there is significant injury, a healthy spine/back isn’t just going to “blow out”, this is normally an accumulation of poor posture/lifting habits, spinal joint dysfunction and weak/tight muscles that build up over time. This creates imbalances and then next thing you know you’ve bent over to pick something up and your back gives out and you’re walking around in pain. 🤕

Chiropractic adjustments are used to mobilise joints that are restricted allowing the spine to move with us and our nervous system to function more optimally. With improved nervous system function and spinal health it allows our body to better cope with the stress of everyday activity and increase strength and stability leading to less chance of injury.

If you’ve put off seeing someone for your back, neck, jaw or shoulder pain, it might be time to make an appointment to see a chiropractor and get you moving and functioning at your best! Our Chiropractors are available 6 days per week with after hours appointments. You can book online or call us on (03)9572 0277!
