Remedial massage also assists people with mental stress and anxiety. With today's lifestyle, we see a range of issues, from people who sit for prolonged periods which can place strain the body, to people who play a lot of sport or regularly attend the gym which can create muscle tension. Regular remedial massage treatments may help to relieve pain and tension in muscles and offer great benefit to a person's wellbeing.
Myofascial Release (MFR)
MFR is a soft tissue therapy that our Remedial Massage Therapist may use for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain. This therapy aims to relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and to stimulate the stretch reflex in muscles. Our Remedial Massage Therapist Christine combines MFR into client treatments.
Trigger Point Therapy / Soft Tissue Massage
This modality used my our Remedial Massage Therapist focuses on the contracted points in our muscle fibres, which are painful upon compression and which may cause referred pain and tenderness to another area in the body. The focused treatment of trigger points can assist in the management of chronic pain symptoms that are difficult to treat. A trigger point/ "pressure point" therapy session involves locating, deactivating and lengthening the affected muscle and restoring normal range of motion and function.
The Bowen Technique is a massage technique that uses cross fibre release to balance and stimulate energy and blood flow to the muscles. This can result in a deep relaxation, allowing the body to heal itself better, and may be effective in treating muscular-skeletal problems.
Our therapists are registered Remedial Massage therapists and are fully claimable, providing instant health fund rebates.
Our remedial massage therapist Christine perfroms reflexology. Reflexology is a massage-type treatment that is focused on the feet, which are seen to mirror different parts of the body. Reflexology may be effective in reducing stress and tension, improving circulation, reduced toxicity and improving immunity.
