Period Pain can be debilitating for some women, 😞 which can often lead to missing out on work, exercise or social activities. How can Chiropractic help? 🧐

1️⃣ Chiropractors are widely known for helping with low back pain. 💥 Releasing the tight muscles and adjusting the restriction in the low back may be beneficial to helping relieve some of the pain you experience around your time of month.

2️⃣ Adjustments may have a connection to nervous system function. (There are several studies and case studies that have found Chiropractic treatment to have an influence on pain and inflammatory response during your period!). 😮

🌿 One randomised control study found that “SMT (spinal manipulation treatment) may be an effective and safe nonpharmacological alternative for relieving the pain and distress of primary dysmenorrhea.”

🌿 Another report states “The fact is that chiropractic care exists to remove subluxations and enable optimal neurological function – and we know the brain runs everything, including hormonal function. It involves the sympathetic nervous system which includes the human stress response, which also has an effect on hormones. Past research has indicated and that chiropractic and/or acupuncture may assist with “conditions relating to dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea and oligomenorrhoea”

🌿 Previous research has indicated “a strong correlation” between dysmenorrhea and “sacroiliac joint motion palpation.” Other factors indicated in evidence surrounding the condition under chiropractic care include chronic low back pain at L4/L5, and the lumbosacral and sacroiliac joints”
